Arriva ufficialmente il sorpasso del Manchester City sull'Arsenal, chiamato domenica a espugnare Newcastle-upon-Tyne per mantenere viva la lotta fino all'ultimo.
Timide speranze per Liverpool e Brighton viste le non esaltanti prestazioni del Manchester United, il ritardo in classifica è però importante. Stagione comunque memorabile per i Seagulls.
Sul fondo il Bournemouth centra una salvezza difficilmente pronosticabile e costringe a un nuovo cambio in panchina il Leeds, forse pentito dell'esonero di Marsch: via Gracia arriva Sam Allardyce.

Termina il sogno dell'Arsenal spezzato da un City infermabile e da una pressione che i ragazzi di Arteta non sono riusciti a reggere. La terza festa consecutiva degli uomini di Guardiola è pronta.
Lotta Champions: 2 punti persi dal Newcastle, il Liverpool come già detto settimane fa sta dimostrando di poterle vincere tutte e quindi per i due United è necessario arrivare a quota 72.
Capitolo Europa/Conference: scatto forse decisivo del Brighton che unito al k.o. degli Spurs nello scontro diretto dovrebbe spalancare per i Seagulls le porte della seconda competizione europea (da vedere poi cosa accadrà con la multiproprietà dell'Union Saint-Gilloise). Per la Conference il Villa è in gioco ed insegue il Tottenham per 2 gol di differenza reti.
In zona retrocessione portano a casa un punto Nottingham Forest e Leeds. Senz'altro più pesante quello dei bicampioni d'Europa che vedono il traguardo vicino.
Termina invece dopo 11 anni il secondo stint del Southampton che non riesce a rimandare oltre il triste verdetto.

Ufficiale la festa a Newcastle-upon-Tyne per il ritorno in Champions League atteso 20 anni.
Manca 1 punto allo United, per il Liverpool a questo punto sarà Europa League.
Brighton ufficialmente in Europa, e probabilmente nella seconda competizione a meno di un 9-0 nello scontro diretto dell'ultima giornata contro il Villa.
All'assalto del posto in Conference il Brentford che ospiterà un City senza obiettivi e verosimilmente imbottito di giovani e riserve e il Tottenham che sarà ad Elland Road contro una squadra ormai spacciata.

Zona retrocessione: tutto è nelle mani dell'Everton che a Goodison Park riceve il Bournemouth. Non sembra un'impresa impossibile ma attenzione perché questa volta i Toffees arrivano agli ultimi 90' ancora in lotta e con i galloni della favorita. Servirà una vittoria perché in caso di pareggio tutto passerà nelle mani del Leicester che riceve in casa un West Ham che avrà la testa alla Fiorentina.
Per il Leeds le speranze sono davvero minime e legate ai risultati dagli altri campi. Un pari dell'Everton costringerebbe i Whites a vincere con almeno 3 gol di scarto...

Mentre montano le polemiche sui recuperi extra-large che saranno in vigore da questa stagione (solo due gare delle 35 giocate in EFL sono terminate entro il 100° minuto, con alcune arrivate sino a oltre il 110°), sembra sia già tempo del primo cambio in panchina in Premier League.

La situazione scottante è quella del Wolverhampton Wanderers, club che per rispettare i paletti imposti dal FPF della Premier League ha venduto in questa finestra di mercato i suoi pezzi da novanta, Ruben Neves e Raúl Jiménez, senza rimpiazzarli.
